Poliisi ampui toistakymmentä nälkiintynyttä eläintä Puolangalla Tilalta oli myös ollut karkuteillä lähes viisikymmentä nälkiintynyttä nautaa, jotka olivat löytäneet metsästä ruokaa. Myös osa hevosista voitiin siirtää muualle.
