This is a situation where I can appreciate the twist while also being really pissed off by things that aren't a huge deal but put me in a bad mood.

What'm I supposed to say when the ENTIRE 1st episode is set up? Going through more slowly would have let us feel it more; maybe skipping it and just revealing stuff in flashbacks? I guess they've succeeded in forcing me to watch a second episode so I can make an actual opinion.

Not an original bone in its body, bland with a dash of cringe comedy. I couldn't make it though the episode even though it was simple enough I didn't need to read the subs.

Not sure the last time I felt more on the fence about this. I liked the edginess and (most) of the visuals. Much less impressed with the story telling and the battles. The latter in particular is less than reassuring in a battle anime...

I have absolutely zero tolerance for cringe comedy, so I'm entirely the wrong person to judge this. There as a hint at the end of the episode of something more going on and it actually had a pay-off for their cold open so it seems well crafted but I just can't.

Has potential for a slightly more serious and dramatic high school romance anime, although not without comedy. Characters felt well-rounded particularly for a first episode.

I'm so not used to queer anime getting production values. the colmedy was a bit cringe in places for me but I enjoyed it overall. It's so colourful too.

A comedy capable of landing it's jokes is sadly rare in isekai.
Also rare is an anime that can have a woman without twisting the camera angle to focus on her boobs at all possible times, apparently.
