At the precincts of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu. A special Bonbori illustrated by ANNO Hideaki was displayed along the approach. A drawing of the Cosmoship Yamato (Space Battleship Yamato) seen from the rear left is depicted alongside his signature. Bonbori are traditional Japanese lighting fixtures surrounded by four sides of Japanese paper to protect them from the wind, with candles or oil burned inside to provide light. This traditional Bonbori Matsuri (Japanese Paper Lantern Festival), held since 1938, lights the shrine with around 400 hand-painted lanterns by notable artists.
