The parole board voted unanimously, 6-0, to not recommend that Robert Roberson's death sentence be commuted to life in prison or that his execution be delayed. The uncertainty surrounding shaken baby syndrome has also led to reevaluations of many criminal cases. Since 1992, the convictions of at least 34 people in the U.S. have been vacated when allegations of shaken baby syndrome or abusive head trauma were a factor, according to the National Registry of Exonerations, which tracks sentences for wrongful convictions The appeals court denied the inmate's latest appeal on Wednesday. That court last week ordered a new trial for a man sentenced to 35 years in prison for his conviction
