Flyer that @MoreLoveEKY posted on their instagram and facebook. It is an artist spotlight of me! There is a photo of me, a short, white, transmasc-nonbinary person. I am standing in front of the horror section in a bookstore. I am smiling and wearing dark blue-purple glasses. I am wearing a black hat with stars and an embroidered green alien head that says "believe", you can barely see a pin on the hat sticking off the side. I have short, wild, dark brown hair with a few greys. I have bright green tunnel gauges in my ears. I am wearing a colorful, patterned button-up (unbuttoned and open) that's main colors are purple, pinks, blues, and gold. It is a Mollymauk from Critical Role merch shirt. I am also wearing a Markiplier "The Drowned Man" merch t-shirt under the button-up. The design features an illustration of Mark's character from his video series "The Drowned Man" as well as his friend Wade from the series. The main colors are purple and pink on a black shirt. The Flyer reads: Aritst Feature: Uplifted Art Exhibition" With the More Love logo design. My bio reads: "Ethan Seagraves is a trans-nonbinary, disabled artist who channels their experience with gender identity and struggles with poverty, chronic pain, Audhd, and PTSD into their art. Their relationship with art is a complicated one as the creative process causes them immense pain. Each minute working on a piece inches them closer into a flare-up. Each completed piece is a testament to their passion for creating. Horror allows Ethan to express their deepest, most vulnerable experiences and truths in a raw and healing manner. Horror is uncomfortable, confrontational, and liberating. It is beautifully ugly and unapologetically honest. Horror is freedom." More info at the bottom reads "A celebration of the Resilience of Marginalized Appalachian Artists. Exhibition Dates April 20-April 29. Closing Reception April 29, 4-6pm. Rowan County Arts Center, 205 East Main Street Morehead, Ky. 40351"

Colorful portrait oriented landscape scene featuring a fiery red-orange sunset over rolling green hills and a river—reflecting the fiery sky—winding away into the distance betwen them. The viewer appears to be standing on a high overlook, taking in this scene—to their left a tall coniferous tree alight with the colors of the setting sun, and to their right a low stone precipice framed by bright magenta foliage. Two faraway birds of prey circle the sky high above the river valley, silhouetted in the bright light of the setting sun as it hovers above the horizon

Expressionistic landscape appearing to show a shadowed blue-green path or stream stretching away between two rows of trees, with a nondescript mound or bank of earth in the foreground to the lower right. The sky is aflame with blazing tongues of red, yellow and orange licking upward and casting stark highlights on the edges of the suggested treetrunks and swirling green masses of foliage at their tops. It looks as though we are standing in a forest watching a fire rage in the near distance, too large to extingush and too widespread to escape.

"Mr. Felts"

A piece directly inspired by the true villains of Appalachian History and culture. The hollow nature of the capitalists who kept us in company towns. A horror that still is felt to this day.

Small square acrylic painting consisting of vibrantly red, orange, and yellow shaded branches popping off of a flatter background that is shaded in a variety of dappled greens and blues from light to dark. The branching patterns are organic and resemble the branching of a fungus, plant, circulatory system, or brachial system.

The branching patterns are organic and resemble the branching of a fungus, plant, circulatory system, or brachial system.

Four small square acrylic paintings with nature themes arranged in a square grid. All are on some level abstract, and only three are finished. All are highly textured. Top left, a painting resembling the bark of trees spattered in highlights of green, red and gold with the brilliant orange colors of a sunset peeking through some high gaps between the dark browns. Top right, another sunset scene, more figurative and showing a deep red sky scattered with golden highlights above a ribbon of river reflecting these colors, curving away and off to the right between two rounded mountains which are covered in brilliant fall colors and chunky bark-like textures. The texture of the sky is more like stucco, and the river is marked with textural ripples. Bottom left is the third painting in the series, described in the alt text for the other image image attached to this post. And finally bottom right is the fourth unfinished painting, a canvas covered in white and mint green showing some initial bark-like textures and darker branching patterns poking out from behind this layer almost translucently in places

Surreal landscape featuring purple and pink mountains rising against a teal-gray sky, with golden grasses and thin wispy stalks of amber plant life rising in the foreground. Between the amber grasses and the purple mountains, tall slender dark brown treetrunks featuring small tufts of light cyan foliage stretch almost as high as the farthest mountain ridge, and another cluster of these trees rises far away atop the highest farthest ridge. To the left of these trees, hanging in the sky is a bright red sun-like irregular oval set against a larger similar shape in black, as if a reverse eclipse (dark circle in back, color in front). The strange red sun casts crimson and orange highlights onto the left side of a dark gray stone tower that rises to the right of the trees on that highest ridge, the crenelations at its apex picking up these highlights as well on their left edges.

Two small square acrylic paintings side-by-side.

The painting on the left has a vertical, treebark-like texture, further evoked by the predominance of dark brown shadows and occasional streaks of green. Some vertical streaks in the upper half of the painting are bright yellow and orange, evoking the colors of a sunset between trees, and similar yellow, gold and ruby highlights streak across some of the raised textures of the bark like refracted light.

The painting on the right is more figurative, evoking an abstracted landscape scene: a heavily stucco-textured bright red sky gradated from dark at the top to lighter oranges and finally hints of yellow gold near the horizon line, where two round, forested mountainsides meet with a red river flowing between them, starting wider at the bottom of the canvas and narrowing as it stretches and curves away from the viewer into the horizon between the mountains. The mountainsides are textured differently than the sky, raised tendrils like bark and vines covered in a multitude of tiny color splotches and streaks to convey a forested mountainside ablaze with colors: yellows, reds, greens, blues, and purples. Some longer streaks of red stand out against the variety of smaller strokes.

Working on the final washes of a red-bellied woodpecker commission. I have to admit, this stage is always my favorite—when the subject begins to form on paper.
