A printed police noticewhich says "Lost! On the 8th of November, 1926, at Church Gresley, a bull & great dane dog. Age 11 months, brown and white mingled colour. Piece out of right ear, burn scar on right hind leg, answers to the name of Bob. Finder will be suitably rewarded on returning same to the nearest Police Station. Anyone retaining same after this notice will be prosecuted."

This glazed sculpture of a Wolfhound, portrayed in motion was created by local artist Beryl Maile and it is thought was modelled on one of Beryl's own dogs.
Beryl had a cheeky sense of humour, she used a coffin as a coffee table & her dogs were called 'Fanny' & 'Willy' 😳

Our #ArchiveAnimals are Salt & Pepper. Dr John Kirker’s donkeys lived in his garden & were a big hit with the local community in Malahide. Salt tragically died in 1998 after a cruel attack. Pepper was distraught but found happiness at Donkey Sanctuary Ireland @arascot.bsky.social
