The first building on campus was the Administration Building, also called Old Main. We ran out of space almost immediately, so added wings on in the decade after its construction. This pic is from the paving of the areas around the building c. 1910 #ArchivesBuildings #Archive30

Today's #Archive30 is #ArchivesBuildings so we're sharing some images of the RBA. In this pic we have the exterior, the searchroom, a strongroom - where we store the archives - and stairs. We couldn't function without our stairs - or our lift! 😉 #ArchivalProduction #ArchiveLife

The British Museum’s iconic building is known throughout the world but it’s had its fair share of upheaval & change. From the ‘new’ building in the 19th C, WWII damage, Great Court building & the Round Reading Room, it’s a special very place. #Archive30 #ArchivesBuildings #BritishMuseum #Archive
