If you see soldiers at the Port of Long Beach this week, don’t panic — it’s all part of the mission.
More than 500 Army Reserve soldiers are participating in a massive training exercise called Operation Mojave Falcon — the largest in the Army Reserve’s history, with over 9,000 troops nationwide.
Here in Long Beach, they’re practicing loading and unloading cargo under simulated attack — including drone strikes, cyberattacks, and even “airstrikes” (via tennis balls dropped from above). 🎾💥
💬 “This challenges our soldiers to think fast and act decisively under pressure,” said Brig. Gen. Manu Davis.
The Port of Long Beach has a long history of supporting U.S. defense — from World War II battleships to post–Pearl Harbor mobilization.
Mayor Rex Richardson called the port an “irreplaceable role” in national logistics.
Training wraps up June 9.
