Huskies Zeena and Tonttu lead the way out onto a wood dock that juts out into a small pool of turquoise blue water. Dark evergreens rise from the far and right side of the pond, and thick low alder border the sunny side on the left.
Looking down into the spring pool from the end of the dock in the previous photo. A lone tree trunk just out under the water, covered in draping tendrils of algae. At the very tip of the trunk, a faint circle can be seen with ripples in the middle.
The outermost destination of our hike was Union Spring, a crystal clear pool with a sandy bottom that had a couple of bubbling upwellings at the bottom, surrounded by faint rings several meters across.
