Naučné tabule o místní tradici těžby mědi a těžkém životě kovkopů.

I mnoho let po začátku těžby krajina pracuje a občas se jim tady něco sesype.

Památník na kovkopa Simona, který nacházel bohatá naleziště díky skřítkům, kterým slíbil, že to nikde nevykecá. Leč opil se v hospodě, tajemství vyzradil a BOOOM, den na to bylo po něm. (Se skřítky není legrace! Neslibovat, nebo dodržet!)

Staré štoly u jezera Levers Water. Jsou ohrazené široko dokola, páč se to sype.

Jak jsem už referovala, výstup na vrchol kopce zvaného Kančendženga hrdiny z Ransomovek se dnes kvůli nepřízni počasí nezdařil. Ale zato jsme viděly spoustu starých měděných dolů, o nichž se psalo v Holubí poště. Byl to hezký výlet. 1/2 ⤵️

Tak děcka! Kančendženga nám dnes odolala. Zabalily jsme to ve druhém výškovém táboře. A i tak mě to stálo a ještě bude stát spoustu jídla, pokroutek a horké čokolády s marshmelounama. Někdy zkrátka není správný den na zdolávání vrcholů.

Welcome home, Timothy! I've just finished re-reading #ArthurRansome 's Pigeon Post (again!). Still can't decide if it's my favourite Swallows and Amazons book or not. Reading as a child, I was always expecting Squashy Hat to be some super villain!

Two bookshelves full of books. Most, here, by Arthur Ransome. Sorry for the awful 'Quantum Thief', picked up for four shillings in a charity shop a year ago. I hated it. It needs to be, and will be, gone.

If someone is interviewed with a bookcase behind 'em, I spend all my time checking out the books.

My own shelves? I suppose I'm a bit, umm, "predictable"?

(Other shelves exist, with all my other favourite authors on, of course. And at least a few of those authors are still alive.)

Three million cheers for edible markers! Was originally going to paint the macarons with food colouring, but the markers were way easier. Don't think chocolate cake was ever eaten in the books, but Roger would probably have enjoyed it, though I wouldn't let William have any!
