Carbon markets lead to human rights violations, and environmental harm & do not contribute to meaningful #ClimateAction. And at the #COP29 talks the current text of #Article6o2 [carbon markets] would do nothing to stop this if its agreed this week.

The current text of #Article6o2 would not ensure environmental integrity & could potentially be worse than current voluntary carbon markets #VCMs.

The lack of transparency & accountability opens the door to activities that undermine the ability to achieve climate goals.
