Screenshot: Bids for ALAN2029 We are looking for a host for ALAN2029. Traditionally we have switched between Europe and North America, and ALAN2027 will take place in Chile, South America. For this reason, we would prefer bids from Europe over bid from the Americas. However, we would be even more excited to get bids from continents that haven't hosted an ALAN conference before. Criteria for a successful bid are (not exclusively) the location, a reliable financial calculation, and a dedicated local team. If you are interested in hosting ALAN2029, we suggest to contact the steering commitee at an early stage of your application. Deadline for bids: August 14, 2026

1️⃣ The photosynthesis of native plants is inhibited (high ALAN).
2️⃣ Invasive plants have stronger phenotypic plasticity and nitrogen-distribution strategy.

Figure 1 in Charvalakis et al. (2025): "Experimental design; 2 × 12 light traps (fitted with four differently coloured LEDs with three intensities) were placed at each side of a forest road. The order of light colour and intensity was randomized within each roadside. Insect trapping was done during 11 non-consecutive nights (minimally one night in between) during July and September."
