Arty-Fact: In Heatwave, Jamie transforms the desert into a surreal stage where fashion, humour, and climate crisis collide. Set against the iconic Joshua Tree landscape, the series plays with extremes—heat and cold, glamour and desolation, absurdity and urgency. Models lick ice, pose with fans, or bury their heads in freezers—performing the act of cooling in a world that's burning.
Known for her bold colour and playful exaggeration, Jamie dazzles the viewer while subtly confronting them with the realities of climate change. Beneath the pop visuals lies a sharp critique: of our fragile environment, of beauty’s persistence under pressure, and of the absurdity of trying to stay cool as the planet heats up.
