Got my Universe up and running, it's important to try keep your game of project data on a separate drive from that running the OS.

Astrosynthesis screenshot a program for creating 3D Starmaps of space civilisation. In the left hand box is a menu tree of the Alpha Centauri A/B system, with Rigel Kenataurus A, Tollman and a fictional gas giant called Seto which orbits A and B. In the main window is the 3d Starmap, blue grids in the distance and coloured globes denoting inhabited star systems. Alpha Centauri is a blazing star in the centre, just off and NE from Alpha is another blazing star, Proxima. Other stars in view are Epsilon Indi and "Alu" (Zeta2 Reticuli) Lines representing wormhole routes link the stars to each other.
Going to wait for confirmation of Alpha Centauri Ab before I change my own vision of the system but it's still The Capital, the Future History won't be too different.

Picked the wrong time of the night to try to get my head around galactic co-ordinates, but Hadar isn't where is should be but I don't know how to tell the space map that.
It should be 361 light years from Sol when on my Astrosynthesis map it is 524 light years away, but it is too late at night [β¦]
Naming all the worlds in the Elnath system after Jane Austen characters & locations, ironic considering the violence unleashed during the Zarquon war, and the almost moon shattering bombardments that the Imperial Confederacy unleashed upon the Pride and [β¦]

This is one of the things I use the GnuIMP for, Astrosynthesis conjures a fractal map for me, I export it, give the landmasses colour and texture then add some lovely Earth-like clouds as a top layer in [β¦]

Watched that Tetris movie tonight which was a delightful adventure and was introduced to a Soviet IT organisation called 'ELORG' which is a great name for a planet so now I'm creating Planet Elorg in Astrosynthesis.
It'll be an alien name though, perhaps relating to the playing of games [β¦]

The planet 'PraΕΎskΓ‘ PlΓ‘z' (Prague Beach), a terraformed Gaian Paludial of great deserts but also a planet spanning sea of nice, cooling beaches. No sandworms, all macrobiotic life has been imported, and the Peopling of the world has begun in earnest.
