Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.76%
Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr), which rose 4.99% or 0.19 points to trade at 3.99 at the close. Meanwhile, Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) added 4.62% or 0.12 points to end at 2.72 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was up 3.07% or 0.06 points to 1.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Public Power (AT:DEHr), which fell 3.01% or 0.44 points to trade at 14.17 at the close. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) declined 2.60% or 0.09 points to end at 3.26 and Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) was down 1.81% or 0.56 points to 30.38.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 72 to 55 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.62% or 0.12 to 2.72.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.64% or 55.07 to $3,413.37 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.71% or 0.47 to hit $65.58 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.71% or 0.49 to trade at $68.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 97.61.
