It's simple ... we kill the bat tunnel: Wildlife haters will be pleased to note that ministers were also effectively promising Monday that £100 million bat tunnels will become a thing of the past, by removing the requirement for developers to offset environmental damage done on sites as a condition of planning. Pennycook echoed the PM by saying: "The bat tunnel in many ways symbolizes what the problems are with the current system."
