Q: Are AI elements eligible for the awards? A: This is a relatively new question for us and something that came up because of a plugin on our website that implemented some AI placeholder images that were swiftly removed after we were notified. It also came up because creators are rightly concerned about human creators being replaced by AI generated voices. We can firmly state that AI does not meet the distinctions of our awards criteria and is therefore not eligible. Like all new technology, AI can be a tool for bad and good; but we are honoring the talents of human beings and not machines, and that is who we are.
As a note, you may have seen our concerns regarding the #AudioVerseAwards use of AI art on their site and whether AI generated content is eligible. We're satisfied with the statement they put out on their Facebook, which we've included below as it's a little tricky to find:
