Talia Appleton selected for UCI Road World Championships, Neve Bradbury withdraws Sep 10, 2025 Talia Appleton competing for the ARA Australian Cycling Team at the Glasgow 2023 UCI Road World Championships AusCycling is pleased to announce that Talia Appleton has been added to the ARA Australian Cycling Team for the 2025 UCI Road World Championships. Appleton, from Mansfield Mt Buller Cycling Club in Victoria, will compete in the under-23 women's road race in Rwanda on 25 September. Her selection comes after her outstanding performance at the Tour de l’Avenir Femmes. Appleton’s podium results and demonstrated potential made a compelling case for the National Selection Panel to include the 19-year-old in the world championship race, which will be contested on highly challenging parcours with 2,400 metres of elevation over 119 kilometres.

Host nation Rwanda qualifies for a minimum of 4.

Women Junior: 1-5 top ranked nations have 5 rider quota, and 4 for all other nations. Conti champs under 5 riders under top 5 rule, have 1 adiitional quota. Reigning WJ world champion is an additional 1 allocation.

Women U23 road race: 5 riders for all. Continental WU23 champions are additional 1 quota. Reigning WU23 world champion is another additional 1 quota.

ITT, all categories, all nations, 2 riders. Additional quota for each reigning ITT world champion, Olympic champion, continental champion. Mixed team relay, nations apply for invitation to the commitee by 01 June 2025.
