🌏 Eastern yellow robin (Eopsaltria australis) The eastern yellow robin is a medium-sized Australasian robin with a grey head and back, bright yellow underparts, and a small white throat patch. In flight, a pale bar is visible on its wings. It is found along coastal and sub-coastal eastern Australia, extending inland in some areas, inhabiting diverse habitats from woodlands to rainforests and even gardens. These inquisitive birds are often seen perched low, on tree trunks or branches, from where they pounce on insects and other small creatures. They are generally sedentary, though some altitudinal migration occurs in winter. Their calls include bell-like piping and a repeated "chop chop" sound. Two subspecies are recognised.
