New article from the AviArch Project (Ramazan Parmaksız, Beatrice Demarchi, Lisa Yeomans) on the archaeological avifauna of Turkey and the identification of its remains (bone and eggshell) using palaeoproteomics 🦆🦢🐦 @archaeobiomics.bsky.social #Aviarch
We are seeking an ornithologist/modeller for a 2-year POST-DOC in Turin. Using archaeological remains, we will reconstruct past avian communities to understand the impacts of climate change and human pressure on birds through time. For details see cutt.ly/irN76QDZ PLEASE RT. #ornithology #AviArch
The entrance to a historic building with classical columns. A vertical banner stand displaying the AviArch project logo and imagery of birds in flight stands to the left of the doorway. Several attendees are entering the building, which appears to be part of the University of Torino.

So pleased to be here!
Next week @archaeobiomics.bsky.social is hosting the kick-off workshop of #ERC project #Aviarch! 30 participants from Greece, France, Denmark, UK, USA and Italy will be discussing new methods to reveal human avian interactions in the past - the foundation for building archaeoecological networks!
Christmas came early at the ArchaeoBiomics Lab, as we unwrapped our new centrifuge today!
It will be one of the new instruments that will be fundamental to carry out our research for the ERC AviArch project.
