Graphic Novel #11 (2026)
3 out of 5 Stars

Spin off short stories from the AXIS event. Some of these are decent, some were not doing it for me.

I didn't read Vol 1 because I'm just reading the Axis event stuff, so I wasn't familiar with some of the characters, but the art was great and the story wasn't bad. If you're reading the Axis event you wouldn't miss out on anything by skipping this. It's the event affects the Inhumans storyline but the Inhumans storyline doesn't really seem to affect the Axis storyline.

Post image If Magneto is present, you know things are going to be dark and angry. I've seen writers write Dr. Doom as occasionally funny, but I've never seen a comic that had Magneto just hanging out all chill and happy. This graphic novel is no different. He has anger management problems, seems fair seeing as he grew up in a concentration camp and he's a double minority Jew/Mutant. Still, when he calls Xavier "my friend" it somehow makes you immediately like and respect him. And he did save the day with all his villainous buddies from the past, so he can't be half bad right?

I read this as part of the Axis event and I like seeing the battle from more than one perspective, but it does get a little repetitive if you've read the other comics where this battle with Red Onslaught/Skull is playing out.

Post image The crossovers are starting to get muddled but putting Magneto, the holocaust survivor against nazi Red Skull after all these years is a pretty great idea. Then add in Wanda (Scarlet Witch) and her daddy issues and you got quite a bit of drama going on here. Also, the annual is strange, meta, different, and sometimes hilarious.
