That's privatisation for you. By way of contrast, oil was 100% publicly-owned by the people of Norway, until it was listed. Even now it''s 67% owned by the Norwegian govt โ although, it's been renamed from Statoil to Equinor in 2018 to reflect its transition toward renewable energy.
