Almost can't bring myself to type it, but Barnaby is gone. His latest illness was too much, and after a year of chemotherapy we had to say goodbye. He was the bravest boy, and I don't know what we're going to do without him. Run free, #bdog.
Foiled an early escape attempt by #bdog, but he managed to tear out his IV. Back to square one. He's settled now because they've given him doggie morphine for the pain, so he's high as a kite.
Worth a watch just for #bdog snoozing in the background. At one point he rolls onto his back and shows the world his bits, while we all try to pretend we haven't noticed.
The "No Licky Licky" command is usually deployed when #bdog is licking:
1. Our faces.
2. Our dinner (attempting, at least), or most commonly
3. His own leg/paws obsessively, to the point of requiring a bandage. (Such a div).
Tried to get a picture of a deer while out walking #bdog. My phone camera's rubbish digital zoom rendered the image like an impressionist painting.
Update: #Bdog hasn't chewed up my miniatures since he was a pup, 10 years ago. But he's so disgusted with the quality of these Bloodletters he's destroyed two of their heads. The universe is telling me to paint some Chaos Dwarfs instead.

#bdog has just gone in for a new/stronger chemotherapy session, which is a make-or-break treatment. Good vibes appreciated.
We organised a meet-up with his best pal, Audrey, earlier, to make sure he had a good day despite everything.

We took #bdog to the pet shop with his Christmas money. He picked out a Highland cow toy, which we bought against our better judgment. Behold the one calm photo with it before he started *humping it relentlessly*. That cow has seen things, man.
2025 having one last swing at us. #bdog has come out of remission and his lymphoma has returned. Back to intensive chemotherapy that'll make him sick for another 3 months.
Yesterday was pretty full-on tbh. We've spent Boxing Day decompressing. Nice walk with #bdog, made my famous fennel sausage rolls, ate party food, drank cocktails, watched Stranger Things. And absolutely *no visitors*. Perfect.
There's no useful reason to teach #bdog this trick, but y'know...

#bdog is a Good Boi, but he's a hunting breed and he just can't switch off. He gets too excited and then chaos ensues.
Last night, #bdog was pootling around in the dark, so I shone a torch to keep an eye on him. The torch attracted a bunch of bugs, which in turn attracted a bat. Came back and forth no more than 6 feet from me, hunting 3 feet off the ground, buzzing bdog in the process! π¦π

If there's a character with a quiet, mumbly voice on TV, and they're doing their big monologue, that's the exact moment #bdog goes for a massive drink, so all we can hear is "SCHLURP! SHLOP! SCHLURP!"
Had a workman round to give us an estimate earlier. #bdog took a *serious* dislike to him. I've never seen him snarl like that. We almost asked the guy to leave, because we trust bdog's instincts.

The neighbours bought us a bottle of wine for checking on their house while they were on holiday. #bdog is unimpressed there was nothing for him, despite him doing his duty and barking at the postman every day.
Sometimes, Facebook Memories actually work as intended. 10 years ago, we met #bdog for the first time. I'm holding him in the pic, and Mrs L has his brother. (He was only 6 weeks old here)! Little did we know the absolute terror he would become π
Had to drop #bdog at Mrs L's parents for a couple of hours earlier. He's 10 years old, and for the first time in his life he wagged his tail so hard that he injured the tip, and swished blood all over MIL & FIL's kitchen cupboards.
He was so happy to see his grandparents he didn't even notice.
