I've dusted off the Official Jam-Filled Babbage Engine, blatted the Windows updates, and am trying to remember how the #BHPC race timing system works...
Unofficial session at Derby Velodrome on Sunday. Should be interesting, though the wrong kind of interesting for me after losing all my […]
Excellent video (with nostril-vision, data and commentary) by the #BHPC's Russell Bridge on his final attempt to beat the British speed record in his streamliner _SeventySeven_ at the #WHPSC in Battle Mountain this year...

In #HPV news, this amazing video of Yesterday's attempt by the #BHPC's Russell Bridge to set a new British record at the World Human Powered Speed Challenge currently taking place at Battle Mountain, Nevada.

Well the 3-hour race was more than a little Type 2 Fun. Much more confident in crosswind, though it still makes cornering unpredictable.
Radio mostly worked.
Bagged a Strava QOM and set a new V(max) of ~37 mph, which I'm pleased with. Also, at no point did I crash into a horse. Or anything […]
#BHPC double-bill at Darley Moor tomorrow. Looks like one day of decent weather, and one day of scorchio with hairdrier crosswind on the straight.
It''ll be interesting to see how I cope with a 3-hour race in the heat. Normally I do well at those on account of superior bladder control, but I'm […]
Loitering within tent near Beverley, for the weekend's #BHPC events at Hull. The weather is currently lovely. Currently. There are weather warnings for thunderstorms tomorrow... #WhatCouldPossiblyGoWrong
All set for the camping at York Cycle Rally and #BHPC meet this weekend. In which we expect the full gamut of British weather, from 'hairdrier' through 'downpour' to 'should have brought my Big Coat'.

Day 1 or #BHPC racing at Rhyl. Underwhelming performance, as I was concentrating on not crashing in the gusting wind. The track is entirely composed of swooping corners, so no real opportunity to spool it up beyond about 25mph without peril.
Meanwhile the timing tent did not blow away, and the […]
Just finished sorting out the race files for the #BHPC event at #Bath #OddDown cycle circuit on Sunday. In which the weather threatens to be decent, and I will try really hard not to crash the Notso on the horrible bottom corner (and proceed around the hairpin at slightly above walking pace, no […]
Results are now published at the usual place, for people playing along at home.

A white streamliner recumbent bicycle, with the lid off. Bright orange Correx sheeting has been gaffer-taped to the sides to protect the paintwork in the extremely likely event of an inexperienced rider failing to keep things rubber-side-down on their first attempt at riding it.
All set for this weekend... #BHPC #Regel17 #WhatCouldPossiblyGoWrong

The weather did a Full Welsh overnight. Today is going to involve Type 2 Fun... #BHPC
First day of #BHPC racing at Rhyl went well, if you ignore the incessant wind. Tomorrow threatens to up the game with precipitation...
Staying at MIL's static caravan in Anglesey for the #BHPC event at Rhyl this weekend. Stupid traffic on the way out of the Wet Midlands meant the journey took 5 hours. Then the stupid caravan park didn't have our registration number in its ANPR system, which would be fine if anyone answered the […]
Still time to register for the #BHPC racing at Rhyl this weekend. I've just created the race files: Back to less than 100 riders, the regular BHPC logo and no NatCode field in the sign-on sheet.
Looks like we might get some dry weather. Crosswinds on Prostate Corner are of course guaranteed […]
Just to say that #whpvc2024 is the official hashtag for this year's World Human Powered Vehicle Association championships. More details on the official website at wc2024.bhpc.org.uk

Another successful day of #BHPC racing at #Hillingdon. We actually ran to time, which is almost unheard of.
The suicide-rabbit that tried to take me out on the bottom corner is disqualified for poor race etiquette, and disqualified again for not being human-powered.
A good, if tiring, day #BHPC racing at Redbridge. I think I prefer that circuit to Gravesend. Hilly but without the dubious corners.
Hillingdon tomorrow...
Tomorrow's side-quest from WC2024 organising is processing registrations for the #BHPC races at #Redbridge and #Hillingdon this weekend. Registrations close tomorrow morning, so there's still time to get an entry in...

Just fixed a tyop that was preventing people from registering for the British Human Power Club events at Redbridge and Hillingdon next weekend. Entry should now be available to both #BHPC members and non-members.

Watching the #BHPC at Betteshanger today and just heard some small kids talking about their favourite design. Apparently this one likes “the ones you do with the hands” best and then the next favourite is “the ones where you lay down”.
