#FairyPrions are washing up on beaches in SE #Tasmania, particularly around Hobart.
Please do not touch the #birds. Instead, count how many you see, take photos, and upload your observations to our dedicated #BeachedBird #CitizenScience database

If you’re in Australia, report your #BeachedBird observations here (especially important over the next 4-6 weeks) adriftlab.org/beached-bird...
Two #seabirds with metal leg bands were reported to #AdriftLab this week during #BeachedBird surveys (these are ongoing, please keep sending us data!). The #CitizenScientists took excellent photos which ensured we could read the full number & report it to the banding office #ABBBS
Live #seabirds #shearwaters continue to wash up in eastern #Australia. This means the #wreck event is ongoing. Please send us your #BeachedBird #CitizenScience data! Here’s how ➡️ adriftlab.org/news/reporti...
Another #BeachedBird update tomorrow, but in the meantime, something fun. #AdriftLab was fortunate to meet with two PhD students today to discuss their projects. One of our lab mascots, Farley Mowat, enjoyed the meeting a little too much 🐶😆

Another big day of #BeachedBird surveys by #CitizenScientists. The numbers coming in are…overwhelming. Why is this happening? Here are two excellent papers (hint: it’s NOT natural)
