The aqueduct for the Rolle or Torridge Canal at Beam House, photographed from the Tarka Trail cycleway - itself the old railway line from Bideford to Great Torrington. This unique canal, completed in 1827, had a sea lock and inclined plane. In 1871 the canal was closed and much of the land used to build the railway, which closed in 1965 with the Beeching cuts.
Rolle Aqueduct drawn in the 1830s. See https://www.rollecanalsociety.org/beam-aqueduct.html Notice the sharp bend that canal barges had to turn.
