He noted sparkling white countertops, stainless steel appliances that practically looked brand new, very plush furniture, and expensive looking artwork all in a very tidy space. Everything seemed to be neatly kept, and it made him wonder if Elliott was the one keeping everything kept. “Yo, trickster? This place is nice and kept. Are you the one keeping it kept.” The words sounded strange when they came out of his mouth. That’s when Octane realized he was not wearing his dialyzer belt, and he had not drank in weeks. “You’re drunk.” Elliott pointed at him. “Sí. I’m drunk.” Octane pointed at himself. Elliott, still pointing, raised his other hand and pointed at himself, “I’m drunk.” Octane used his free hand to point at Elliott, “Sí. You’re drunk.” They both stood there for almost a minute, just pointing at themselves and one another. Then without warning they both dropped their hands and started laughing at the same time. They spent minute upon minute laughing, which eventually turned to giggling, and then an occasional tee-hee.
