Belltown Power Texas Expands with Six New Data Center Projects in North Texas Belltown Power Texas, a renewable energy developer, is embarking on a significant expansion into the US market with the announcement of six new data center projects in North Texas. This marks the company's initial foray into data center development within the United States. The combined capacity of these six facilities will reach 1.435GW. Strategically situated near major transmission points and the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, the data center locations offer substantial advantages including streamlined interconnection and flexibility to accommodate hyperscale and AI workloads. Belltown Power has already secured commitments for a 15MW facility, while the remaining five are currently undergoing evaluation with local utility companies. Details regarding construction timelines and the specific capacity of each individual data center haven't been released. Belltown envisions integrating utility-scale solar and battery storage solutions alongside these data centers, building upon its existing renewable energy portfolio. The company already manages 50 operational and planned solar projects in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, contributing to a robust development pipeline of 4.6GW and over 3GW of capacity currently in operation or under construction. Jeffrey Clay, co-founder of Belltown Power Texas, emphasized the synergy between data center and renewable energy initiatives, stating that their combined development will be mutually beneficial. Belltown’s expertise in the ERCOT grid and North Texas development provides a competitive edge in identifying optimal locations for interconnection and dependable power delivery, enabling the company to deliver efficient and high-quality data center solutions. Originally founded in the UK, where it has developed more than 23 projects, Belltown Power entered the US market in 2017, initially concentrating on solar and energy storage. Its US operations initially targeted the ERCOT and PJM markets, subsequently broadening its scope to include MISO, WECC, and SPP. The recent announcement of these data center developments represents the company’s first disclosed project in the data center sector.
