Me, a white woman in my late 30’s, taking a selfie immediately after finished a half marathon. I’m sweaty and my face is the same colour as my very pink t-shirt. I’m grinning and clutching a large medal like my life depends on it. Strava stats along the bottom show a 21.3km run done in 2 hours 11 mins.
That was the sweatiest half I’ve done. I got through a litre of electrolytes and all the water the volunteers were willing to give me and could have drunk more. Survived the #BerlinHalfMarathon, despite it being very bloody warm.

I’ve been training in weather that has been, at best, 10°C on a good day. I wasn’t worried because the last two years it’s been 4°C with flurries of snow, so this year is going to be different!
