This is truly a terrifying shot and so creative. Fantastic use of the Christmas tree by Cinematographer George E. Diskant. Gets me every time! 🫣 🎄

Robert Ryan's delivery is terrifying. And especially the quiet lines. No yelling. Just fear.

He is so proud of his work and is kind. It's almost a Dr. Jekyll-type trance that makes him go off the rails. When he snaps out of it, you can see someone who wants love and acceptance.

The film was shot over an 18-day period in 1951 for Collier Young and Ida Lupino's production company, the Filmakers. RKO Pictures head Howard Hughes withheld the film from release for a year. #BewareMyLovely#FilmNoirClub

The film takes place almost entirely in one room. Ryan and Lupino do an amazing job with their faces and bodies to convey so many emotions and complex subjects. Lupino's directing touches are on show. #BewareMyLovely#FilmNoirClub
