Finally had a bit of time to play with multi-GPU deconvolution. Using @truenorth-ia.bsky.social and @haesleinhuepf.bsky.social previous work.
Here it is in action in #BigDataViewer using async and lazy processing. Look at the two poor laptop GPUs going as fast as they can:
Why #BigDataViewer loves multi-resolution (pyramidal) formats:
- Top left: Only high-res data β slow & artifacts when zoomed out.
- Top right: Only low-res data β no details when zoomed in.
- Bottom: All resolutions β seamless, responsive, beautiful. π₯

One of the reason #BigDataViewer stays responsive: images are rendered in parallel at several resolutions. Each higher-quality render replaces the previous instantly (bottom right is a 'normal' bdv). Fast update, high resolution.

Hehe, the first game of life I code (in #FijiSc using #BigDataViewer obviously). Naive implementation, but still functionally defined and lazy computed - see how the data arrives as I scroll, and is cached.

Yep, it lags a little. But still quite impressive considering that each "pixel" is a 150 MPixel multires image. Overall the total number of 'adressable' pixels in this 2D image are 225x225x150 Mpix = 7.6 Tera pixels. #ImageJ #Fiji #BigDataViewer
