As for Iain, he knew what was coming even before Sue said he was being eliminated from the competition. He was smiling the whole time.

I haven't seen this episode for a while, but I had forgotten how Iain never tried to dodge accountability. I'm seriously impressed by that.

Both judges are clearly uncomfortable with the situation. They're both away that it was just due to the stress of the situation, but that they can't escape the fact that they have a job to do.

They agreed he's a great baker. Mary praised his quality. Paul praised his passion.

And Iain just dragged the bin up to the table for judging. He's not happy.

To his credit, he's taking accountability and admitting he acted out of frustration. Paul and Mary are both sympathetic to him, but firm.

He's just come back to the tent. Mel and the rest of the bakers are clearly concerned for him. Kate checked to see if he was okay.

Iain just threw the ice cream in the bin and stormed out of the tent. Everyone is shocked.

And everyone who was in the tent that day, including Iain, has said the same thing: Iain's ice cream was only out of the tent for a few seconds and that it had nothing to do with what Diana was doing.

It really was the heat getting to both Iain and his ice cream.

Now, to be fair, it was a VERY hot day. Nancy and Diana were both saying that their ice creams were having a hard time setting and Norman was saying his was melting quickly every time he opened the freezer to check on it.

Compounding the problem, Diana wound up withdrawing from the competition after this episode due to illness. Put all of that together and she caught a LOT of heat from the Internet.

While Paul and Mary both said that it was a moment of frustration that he would take back if he could - and that they would have been happy to judge the sponge and meringue - the damage was done. Iain wound up eliminated.

He wound up taking the resulting puddle and tossing it in the garbage. When it came time for judging, he just dragged the garbage can up to Paul and Mary.

Anyway. Back to the drama.

Iain's ice cream ultimately refused to set. That's probably because of some combination of the ingredients and the heat.

However, the editing made it look like Diana took his ice cream out of the freezer and left it on the counter.

Well now I’m confused;
No’s 33 & 31 have their black bins out, BUT No’s 55 & 57 have put out their green bins.
Everyone else has put out their recycling & there’s a lot of neighbours looking out of the windows at each other.
Thing is; No’s 33 & 53 are the go-to’s for bin day accuracy! 😳😬🥴🤪
