Cytotoxicity tests revealed that these Cu(II) cyclopeptides outperform cisplatin in some cancer cell lines, with lower IC50 values and high efficacy.

Using ICP-MS, we confirmed that these metallopeptides significantly increase intracellular Cu(II) levels.

Meanwhile, fluorescence assays showed a strong induction of ROS, supporting an oxidative stress-driven cytotoxic mechanism.
