A tree covered in ivy
Happy #ThickTrunkTuesday! Not sure how thick this tree really is though. But the ivy was full of berries and chirping birds. #trees #biodiversityrocks

One walk, three bird species added to iNaturalist. Best present, as it lifted my mood from not so good to happy. Thanks Earth 💙🌍!

First page of #invertober2025 done! Fitting the lobster on the page was a challenge 😄. #biodiversityrocks #sciart
I love how colorful #invertober2025 is so far. #biodiversityrocks #sciart
What a joy to find 4 🐛🐛🐛🐛 of the spurge hawk-moth in our garden! We just have a few m2, yet keep it diverse, with native plants and extensive maintenance (and no pesticides nor short cut lawn). Starts to pay off😊 #BiodiversityRocks
Finished! Here are my last two pages of #AvianAugust. Proud that I made it, but sad because of so many extinct #birds. #biodiversity #biodiversityrocks #illustrations
Spotted some cool #biodiversity while picking berries, including a jumping spider who attacked me 😄 so cute and pretty. #biodiversityrocks

#BiodiversityRocks 7/7
Thick tree trunks supporting different biodiversity dead and alive.

Day 14 of my bird drawing challenge. I was lucky to spot a pair of ravens soaring in the sky from my balcony 🖤 I think this is a good end for my challenge. Will draw birds again, but not daily.
Also, it was another try in making black feathers shiny.

Got any grapes?
Their shape was trickier than expected.

"Just sparrows". I realized today that they have quite complex patterns. Also they are just cute. #birds #illustration #biodiversityrocks
For today's bird I mostly used my own reference image, which had less details and was thus less challenging. So today I'm satisfied with my drawing 😊
I like how this pidgeon species has a cartoonically small head 😄

A species that I only know since Sunday, and found it in the same place today while running.
Somehow I'm getting less easily satisfied with the shapes I'm drawing than when I started this. Perfectionism tries to take over, but I'm posting this anyways.

First bird species I saw today was one with dimorphism, so I thought why not let one of them face the other direction. Turns out I need to practice drawing shapes into other directions 😅. #birds #illustration #biodiversityrocks
One plant, three kinds of pollinators. And what a lovely scent. Cinnamon rose (Rosa majalis). #flowers #insects #biodiversityrocks
Today's bird, a very cute one. #birds #illusttation #biodiversityrocks
Another pretty bird walked by my balcony this morning. I also drew the plant from which the bird's German name originates.
It's nice how many birds I can see without leaving my balcony.

I was happy when some of the prettiest birds around walked by my balcony this morning. Then I realized their stunning iridescence and gold sparkles would be a big challenge for coloring. I'm satisfied with the outcome though. #birds #illustration #biodiversityrocks
I tried a bit of a cartoony way to make its tail actually wag 😄
#birds #illustration #biodiversityrocks
The first bird species I saw today almost never sits, but I found a reference image where it does 😄.
As a kid I loved just lying on the ground and watching these awesome birds flying. They're also a symbol for summer to me.

sometimes #biodiversity asks to be recorded 😊 #biodiversityrocks #arthropodes
Another yellow flower, Melampyrum pratense. It is hemi-parasitic, which means it steals water and nutrients from the roots of other plants. #biodiversityrocks
Why not. Here is some nice Lotus corniculatus that I photographed during lunch break. #biodiversityrocks
In my most recent #animation I originally focussed on playing with changing light and shadows during a sunset. But then after creating all those details I decided to do a bit of #biodiversity education.

Happy #EarthDay! To me, celebrating Earth means celebrating #biodiversity. So here is a small tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae) that I spotted recently. This species is affected by droughts and timing of rainfall. #biodiversityrocks #climatechange

... und jetzt schaut Euch bitte diese unfassbaren Meeresnacktschnecken an!! 😍🤯
