Iowa 9/WIS 82 Mississippi River Crossing Project Announces Bridge Closure Date and Plans for Car Ferry Service Black Hawk Bridge will close on Monday, Oct. 20. Iowa DOT and WisDOT will initiate a free car ferry starting in early Nov. until new bridge opens Spring 2027.

No, they reopened it on June 9th after inspection, but apparently after the 4th of July week they will close it "with 1 week notice in advance."

Brings a lot of relief to people in the De Soto area, not needing to drive 35+ mins to PdC, La Crosse or Viroqua
