Jobos Bay Puerto Rico The Ocean Foundation's Blue Resilience Initiative is leading a large-scale mangrove restoration initiative in the Jobos Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and Aguirre State Forest. This project, in partnership with the Puerto Rico Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DNER), aims to repair damage from the 2017 hurricane season and long-term environmental changes due to urban development. At 1,445 acres, it is the largest mangrove restoration project ever undertaken in the United States.
