Bottle of Tollundmanden strong bitter.
Well, surely the only thing to drink after a visit to Silkeborg Museum is a bottle of Tollundmanden bitter bought in the museum shop. Quite why it’s an English bitter I don’t know, but it’s not bad. This holiday has been a big boost to the bog body memorabilia archive!

During pickling, water moves out of the (pota)toes by osmosis and the pickling liquid diffuses in to replace it, preserving the spuds. Florida's Windover Bog Bodies are roughly 8000 years-old, consisting of 168 ancient individuals that were found buried at the bottom of the Windover pond. Thanks to the peat down there, the bodies were preserved so well that scientists even found intact brain tissue in several skulls.
