"I am glad to hear that," Bokuto said and then his expression changed, his hand going to his side. Keiji followed the motion, his stomach falling at the sight of blood.

He thought seriously for a moment and then, carefully, "A name?" The beast-like being made a startled sound. "Name?" "What may I call you," Keiji elaborated, then gestured at himself. "I'm Akaashi Keiji, nice to meet you." And then, because his mother had drilled manners into him and he was aware from all of the animals' conversations the previous night that this person was probably at one point high born, he dipped into a bow. The figure growled and Keiji abruptly stood straight as the sound shivered down his back. "Do not bow before me. I do not deserve it," he sighed, sounding despondent. "I do not deserve a name either, not looking like this."

Keiji steeled himself and took a step forward, moving closer. Atsumu, who had been watching from a spot in between them quickly stood, scurrying out of the way. Though, Keiji noted with wry amusement, he didn't leave the room, watching the entire exchange with a mischievous glint. Perhaps there was more of the lord kitsune in him than he had originally denied. As Keiji took a step, and then another, closer, the other fell back, shadows surrounding him again. Keiji stopped and frowned. "You say you will grant anything and yet deny my first request?" A groaning sound emerged from the shadows, but Keiji stayed firm, waiting. Finally, "Bokuto." Barely a whisper, brought to him on a breeze smelling of roses, so faint Keiji wasn't even sure he had heard properly. "Bokuto," he repeated, letting it sit on his tongue. Bokuto. A strong name. A good name. A name befitting an alpha that looked more like an owl.

The only downside to this BokuAka day is that I had kind of hoped to have my BokuAka Beauty and the Beast AU ready to post by now 😂 Sadly, that will not be, but here's a snippet of them finally meeting.
