Belatedly logging completion of The Beekeeper's Apprentice by Laurie R King for the Intergenerational Friendship square.

That gave me 19 books covering 21 squares with one lonely bingo, which I'm pretty sure is mathematically a record.

Pacific Northwest Nature square:

Puget Sound Whales for Sale: The Fight to End Orca Hunting by Sandra Pollard

Gives a good idea of the scale of orca hunting (and what happened to them) from about 1965-75. Kind of sensationalist writing style but still touching.

Image of the book cover featuring a balrog with a giant fire whip, clinging to a rocky crag. An elf (I forget who, maybe Glorfindel) with blonde hair, a green cape, and a sword is climbing to face the balrog. Kind of stormy landscape in the background. JRR Tolkien's name is in a yellow script.

My Big Book for #BookBingoNW2025 is The Silmarillion, specifically the audiobook read by Andy Serkis.

This edition includes a new-to-me letter from Tolkien to a friend, outlining the story, mentioning the concept of "subcreators" like Feanor.
