2/5 - disappointed yet again. I was really hoping for some kind of buildup with this post apocalyptic story, but it's really shaky at best the climax was... anticlimactic. I love post apocalyptic stories and this had a great premise, but boring characters and shallow villain. #bookfort

3.8/5, I had a really good time with this!! I feel like the middle was a bit of a slog to get through, and sometimes he went on too long with the extreme imagery, but I really appreciate the father-son relationship in this and whenever Mr. Dark says literally anything #bookfort

3.6/5 I really loved this book as a kid, and it's still good! But I definitely think I've outgrown the 'lonely teenage lead is actually extraordinary' trope
The lore is much more interesting when it's not focusing on Jacob's romance with Emma #bookfort

5/5 This is the perfect space adventure, and I love it SOOOOO much omg. It was full of laughs and a surprisingly excellent depiction of a sentient computer and their processes. It was wonderful and comedic, highly recommend this one! #bookfort
I need to go to a book club fr. But book clubs have required readings and i don't do well with obligations #bookfort
I can't believe I'm reading about space Dracula LMFAO #bookfort
A picture of the novel "we used to live here" by Marcus Kliewer, with a Victorian house on the front being distorted by stripes running down the front
4.5/5 Forgot to mention that I finished this one too and my primary complaint is that the ending SUCKS and there's no sequel yet. GRRR GRRRR
Otherwise it was genuinely scary and had me up at night worrying about basement monsters i don't have #bookfort
The cover of the novel Beautyland by Marie-Helene Bertino, purple with a city skyline at the bottom and a triangular decal that leads up to the word BEAUTYLAND
4/5 I'M A MESS. SOBBING. HEARTBROKEN AND YELLING AND UPSET

5/5 absolutely no notes, this book fucking ROCKS #bookfort
A photo of the book "A River of Golden Bones" by A.K. Mumford. It has a wolf head painted on the front cover in various colors
Unfortunately, this is my first DNF this year... I hated it SO much and only got about a third of the way through before I gave up. 2/5 for having an inkling of an interesting story, but the main character is just insufferable >:( #bookfort
A photo of the book "The Color of Magic" by Terry Pratchett. The cover is red with a magical looking suitcase
I started Discworld this year!! The Color of Magic was really comical, but I ended up giving it a 3.5/5 because I don't really intend on going back to this lol... the writing style is also kind of all over the place at times, which makes it really hard for me to keep up haha #bookfort
