Day 31 of #BookWrapUp24 - A book you look forward to reading in 2025. So many upcoming releases and plenty of books I just haven't gotten to yet. Here are just a few of the ones I'm looking forward to reading in the new year. #BookSky πŸ’™πŸ“š #danmei #manga

Day 27

Not so much world-building as it is town-building, but I'm going with 'Salem's Lot. King really did a wonderful job describing the town, the atmosphere and the residents without it being tedious to read.

Day 30 of #BookWrapUp24 - Last book you read in 2024. As of right now the last book I read was Other Birds by Sarah Addison Allen. I was hoping to finish one more but getting sick threw off my plans. We'll see if I can squeeze in one more before the year is done. #BookSky πŸ’™πŸ“š

Day 28 of #BookWrapUp24 - One lesson you learned from books this year. That reading outside your comfort zone can be fun. I didn't think horror was for me and avoided it, but I found a few authors this year who write horror that have changed my mind. #BookSky πŸ’™πŸ“š

Day 28: Lesson you learned from books this year

I want to trust myself while being my authentic self. Many books I read had ordinary people doing extraordinary things or coming to their own. That's the energy I want to take into 2025.

Gonna give "best friendship" to the sorcerer and his demonic servant in Sorcery of Thorns. Admittedly, I was mostly attached to the demon but I liked the friendship too.

Day 25

I'm gonna go with Murderbot again. I don't read very many happy or funny books, but a grumpy shy murderbot catching human feelings is a very amusing concept.

Day 26 of #BookWrapUp24 - A book with the best friendship. I read Summer Ghost months ago, but I'm still thinking about these characters. Such a moving story about three people struggling with their own pain, but together, they find friendship, healing, and understanding. #manga #BookSky πŸ’™πŸ“š

Day 25 of #BookWrapUp24 - A book that made you happy and/or laugh. I'm going with Project Hail Mary. I really enjoy Andy's writing style. His books are very science heavy but his characters are always funny and engaging so I never feel bored. #BookSky πŸ’™πŸ“š

Day 24

I don't really read books that take place in fun vacationy locations. And if it's horror or a fantasy book, there's always some dangerous element to the setting, so travelling there would not be wise. Or am I overthinking it?

Pretty is maybe not the word, but I love these Halloween editions for a selection of Stephen King classics. I own almost all of them (except Cell) and this year I read two - Carrie and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. Misery will be my winter read.

Day 22

As I'm despairing at the world today, I'm 100% gonna pick a romcom. Even if to just be a side character. Practice Makes Perfect was almost totally conflict free and everyone in it was nice, attractive and guaranteed a happy ending.

Let me live in the cozy world of Legends & Lattes. I just want to read, drink coffee, and eat delicious pastries made by Thimble. #BookSky πŸ’™ πŸ“š

Day 21 of #BookWrapUp24 - A series I started and want to continue. I started quite a few new series this year, especially in manga but I'll highlight Ballad of Sword & Wine this time. I really enjoyed the first two volumes and I can't wait for vol 3 now. #BookSky πŸ’™πŸ“š #danmei

Flipped. I saw the film first and read the book for the first time this year. The film otherwise follows the book quite closely and they're both worth checking out, but the film places the story in the 1950s which actually makes a lot of sense.

Day 20 of #BookWrapUp24 - A book adaptation done right. Not sure if I'm interpreting this question correctly, but I read #LoveInTheBigCity & #TheBadKids this year and then watched their drama adaptations. I thought they both did justice to the source material while giving us compelling dramas.

Re-Reads for me this year include all of the Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews, which I actually re-read twice this year when a book club I'm in picked the first book recently, and The Phoenix Hoard series by Julia Vee and Ken Bebelle. Both series are so good!

Day 19

My most read genres were horror (1st) and, surprisingly, romance (2nd). Horror prevailed. Fantasy fell behind this year and in fact all three of the fantasy books I finished this year had romance in them so those rather added to the romance count.
