Finished today, 10th book for 2026. A memoir of the author’s experiences as a literature professor in post-revolutionary Iran, including from an all-female discussion group she formed to read forbidden Western books. Worthwhile, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

#Books2026 Death at the Auction (The Stamford Mysteries) by E.C. Bateman. Cosy, predictable murder mystery. Pretty easy to work out the murderer. A few annoying inconsistencies (why is it dark at 5pm in April?) but not an unpleasant read. 2.5/5.
