The ballot for the Battle River–Crowfoot by-election will look different from the ones electors and candidates have seen in the past. This is due to a higher than usual number of candidates and limitations of the large ballots that have been used in some previous elections. Elections Canada has created an adapted ballot that is similar to a special ballot, on which electors write the name of the candidate they are voting for. This adapted ballot will replace the typical list-style ballot, on which electors mark a blank circle next to the name of their candidate of choice. The adapted ballot will retain the safeguards of a typical ballot.
