A small rocky stream flowing down from the mountains at sunset and bordered by forest with various animals staring one another down. On the left is an Ankylosaurus noticing and being noticed by a Borealosuchus half submerged in the water below a small cascade. On the fight is a herd of Triceratops of mixed ages approaching the stream noticing and being noticed by a Tyrannosaurus family on the other bank. Each group has two adults and a juvenile. The juvenile Tyrannosaurus is based primarily on the proportions of juvenile Tarbosaurus to avoid confusion with Nanotyrannus. There are various birds in the sky flying off both sides of the frame symbolizing that they will make it out of the Cretaceous as the last surviving lineage of dinosaurs.

I do not know this specimen's ID. But, this Borealosuchus specimen comes from Eocene deposits in Wyoming per the display signage at HMNS.a

Happy #FossilFriday from this #Borealosuchus at the @hmns.bsky.social! Though this specimen comes from the Eocene, the genus is also known from as far back as the end-Cretaceous. Considering that longevity and its range including much of North America, this was a very successful eusuchian.

Borealosuchus is a neat croc. The genus persists for a good while after the K-Pg mass extinction, all the way into the Eocene. You can also find B. sternbergii material right above the end Maastrichtian layers as well.
