In the darkened Castrum Fluminis, Shiina kneels and protectively embraces a wounded Yotsuyu. She glares viciously, brandishing her katana in her free hand. Yotsuyu leans against her, looking dazed and only semi-conscious. A bolt of lightning strikes behind Shiina, swallowing the massive Garlean banner and searing a hollow, black image of a seven-branched blade into the atmosphere, the symbol of the Goddess of Strife's divine authority, her so-called Formless Storm.

Shiina stands before Asahi. A number of golden thread-like fractures emanate from him, faint and weak. Shiina continues: "The very threads holding you to this world are like to *snap* any day now."

Bonds, soon severed.

The woman looks up at Shiina, face now stained with blood. She lowers her hand and her expression relaxes somewhat, but she is still shocked. Shiina speaks off-camera, titled as "Enigmatic Swordswoman:" "...It's true, unfortunately. Life's never fair."

The fallen samurai's body lays partially offscreen. The katana he wielded still rests in his hand, still mostly sheathed. Shiina's foot is visible next to the corpse. She continues speaking. "Strife comes suddenly, viciously, and ruthlessly."

Shiina has picked up the samurai's katana, and examines it in both hands. She continues speaking: "Make no mistake: the scars inflicted upon you this day will stay with you forever. But strife is a crucible. I can offer you little by way of comfort, but this promise..."

The woman accepts the blade from Shiina, holding it in her outstretched hands and looking at it, transfixed. Shiina speaks from off-screen: "...You may emerge stronger from this. Far stronger than one who was never broken."

A woman struggles on the ground as a village burns. She is backed up against a boulder, face twisted in fear as she raises her hand to block the sight of an approaching samurai, unsheathing his blade threateningly. She speaks: "This... this isn't fair... Please."

The samurai looms over the woman against the burning sky, flashing his blade from its sheathe. He smiles viciously, and speaks. "For chaff like you? That's just how life goes."

The samurai is interrupted, face contorted in shock, and jerks violently as a massive lightning-like slash diagonally bisects his torso. He yells out "ARGH!!!"

Where the samurai was previously standing now stands Shiina, who has slashed through him effortlessly, holding her blade out to the side where the cut ended. She gazes coldly where her foe once was.
