We're still paying for Brexit The UK is STILL paying the Brexit divorce bill - six years on from formally quitting the bloc. Boris Johnson's deal included a financial settlement to pay off the UK's obligations to the EU, which is now worth a cool £30.9billion. Treasury Minister James Murray confirmed that the around £25.7billion had been paid up to the end of December 2025. But there is still around £5.3billion to pay off.
