Somehow, as we’ve become more urbane, we’ve forsaken all colour from our lives. Buildings, clothes, cars are all monochrome, sheathed in grey, black or beige cover us. In the past, colours made the wealthy stand out from the common folk. Now wealth requires us to blend in.
