A Brocken spectre/Brocken specter/Spectre of the Brocken is the magnified shadow of an observer cast in mid air upon any type of cloud opposite a strong light source. HPPA's Dylan from Creative Services experienced this near the summit of Haleakalā National Park, at the VC overlook.
