A monumental concrete building rises in stacked, angular volumes, its surface raw and textured with the vertical grain of poured cement. The structure feels heavy and deliberate, composed of interlocking blocks that step upward and backward, creating deep shadows and sharp edges. Narrow windows and recessed openings punctuate the façade, their dark interiors contrasting with the pale gray mass of the walls.

Warm, low sunlight from the setting sun strikes the building at an angle, casting bands of amber and soft orange across the concrete. The light pools beneath overhangs and along ledges, briefly softening the severity of the architecture. At ground level, a broad staircase leads upward toward dark wooden doors, the steps partially dusted with thin patches of snow that settle into corners and seams.

Bare trees stand nearby, their branches thin and skeletal against the fading sky. Snow clings lightly to the surrounding ground, emphasizing the cold stillness of the scene. The sky above transitions from cool blue-gray to pale peach near the horizon, signaling the end of day.

The atmosphere is quiet and contemplative. The building feels both imposing and introspective, as though designed for endurance rather than comfort. The interplay of winter cold and fading warmth gives the scene a restrained tension, where permanence and passing time briefly meet.

A sculptural concrete retreat with sweeping curved stairs, arched corridors, and a circular void cut into its upper volume. Nestled between pine trees and a turquoise coastline, the structure merges minimalist rigor with organic flow. A narrow pool reflects the softened light, blurring the boundary between architecture and nature.

Poem titled “What in the electrical hum”

is musical
what beyond it
the passing car
the note
of the trees in winter
a bitter whistle
when the wind picks up
as though we might forget

but how can we
when the floors and walls are wooden
and the steps and fences too
and the roof

not to mention the firewood
its sighs always escaping
out doors, windows chimneys, lungs
