Haven't been on LinkedIn for a while, but #BsidesSeattle this weekend had a few people wanting to connect, so I went ahead and did so. Went on there today, and ...
...Holy hell that place is just a mess of things I don't really care about anymore. I remember the golden 5 minutes where it was an […]
The library at the beginning of the first morning. It is soothing tones of gray, blue, and brown with carpeted seating areas, lamps, leather chairs, couches, and dark curtains around the space. There is a bookshelf with a single open box in front of it, but no books yet.
Jonobie, a white woman with purple hair, stands in front of the bookcase from the prior photo. It is now filled with books and cards. She is doing a sort of Vanna White pose in front of it, gesturing to the books.
I named myself the unofficial #bsidesseattle librarian this year and brought the digital side of it, spent time in there gently hosting, refilling books, and having delightful conversations with people. It was exactly the space I needed for a conference. I […]

I have been remiss in having forgotten to mention that Da Boss, Daniel Schwalbe, will be speaking tomorrow at BSides Seattle! Go see him work his magic.
Bonus points if you ask him what the "F" in "DFS" stands for.

If you’re at #bsidesseattle Friday or Saturday, check out the lovely (and quiet!) free library full of a delightful selection of Ada’s bookstore books. There’s fiction, how to, and classics there. Find a book you love? Take it with you!
There is ALSO a #WeeFreeCommunityLibrary chock full of CC […]
Apparently, I made all the arrangements to attend #BSidesSeattle except for buying the tickets. Bummed! But I have a lot of work to do today anyway. See y'all next year!
At the end of her talk, Emily Choi Greene mentions running an ai tm twice, one as low temp one at high, and using the high temp run to drive a conversation about possibilities. #bsidesseattle

I have done some scouting at the speaker reception and I’m here to report — as a person who literally has a talk that’s “I AM INTROVERT” — that the other speakers for #BsidesSeattle are an absolute delight.

I’m also bringing a #Bsides themed #WeeFreeCommunityLibrary, packed full of Creative Commons security content, xkcd comics, and Carrot & Pepper goodness. With a little sprinkle of mental health support, right-to-repair education, and “security for all” info. It will hopefully be up and going in […]

An image of a moon with "Bsides Seattle 2026" over and in it. (It's a fun almost spoopy vibe.) Text underneath says: Come hear me at Bsides Seattle 2026! The Antisocial Engineer's Guide to Community Building: Deploying a Neighborhood Honeypot Saturday, February 28, 2026 10:30 am Jonobie Ford
Oh hey, I'm excited to do this talk at Bsides 2026, Feb 28th at 10:30am! Now I need to actually get on ironing out the kinks in it... #BsidesSeattle #BsidesSeattle2026
Y'all
I had such an amazing experience at #BSidesSeattle this year.
That area's tech scene feels so alive.
I wrote up some of my thoughts on the event.

@bsidesseattle.bsky.social wasn’t just a conference — it was a #community. Watching ppl connect, learn, laugh, and feel seen reminded me why we do this. Thank you to all the #bsidesseattle participants who made space for others. You made it feel like home. #inclusion #diversity #DEI

We’re talking about how to maintain sanity during mergers & acquisitions this afternoon at #BSidesSeattle. The meme makes me happy with their little, cute, touch of evil. Fun talk from Hilary Young.

“At the state agency, we were sourcing our spare parts from eBay, because that’s how old the hardware is” — I remember the same thing at a bank you’ve used: ebaying parts for the Pyramid mainframe.

I'm not anxious, you're anxious. (On in an hour at #BSidesSeattle!)
I’m talking about #NonHumanIdentity and why getting them right could be the key to finally getting human IAM right, too.
Also: standards work in this space is cooler than you think. No, really.
